Infor, one of the largest global providers of enterprise software, today announced that Sandvik Mining and Construction, a world-leading supplier to the mining and construction industries, has gone live with the first of forty implementations of Infor ERP System21, designed to improve business performance at every level -- operational, process and corporate, and Infor Service Management, a comprehensive service management solution allowing service managers and engineers to streamline processes and increase efficiencies.
This first project in Norway is phase one of a global rollout. The fully integrated solution will track and record all service data across the company's operations to enhance customer service and enable Sandvik Mining and Construction to grow its service business.
Sandvik Mining and Construction required a solution to encompass all of its operations, from manufacturing production to replacement parts and after-sales service. Infor ERP System21, part of Infor's Manufacturing Essentials suite, and Infor Service Management now enable Sandvik Mining and Construction to view all service data and history so that it can manage service enquiries more efficiently. A key part of the project has been integration with distribution, manufacturing, finance and service functions across the business, which has been completed successfully.
Sandvik Mining and Construction manufactures and services a vast range of machinery, equipment and tools for the mining and construction industries. Its products are extremely sophisticated, requiring Sandvik to provide accurate servicing for its customers.

Sandvik Mining and Construction is also utilising the Infor Performance Analyser business intelligence tool to monitor delivery performances for after-sales. The complete integration allows for all service data to be visible across the business, providing accurate reporting for the management of their operations. It has enabled Sandvik Mining and Construction's service business to provide improved follow-up services and track the specific requirements of each customer through a coordinated after-sales effort.

"Bottlenecks in the service business have been eradicated and we can now plan more accurately around capacity and inventory. The success at the site in Norway is now being used as a template for the other global country operations."
