Abstract

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions have done a good job managing transactional product data, enabling workflow, and governing the engineering change process for many industry leaders, but more is needed to remove the many blind spots that still exist in the product development process. Most manufacturing managers don’t have handy access to the inventory data they need to make such decisions. All that is changing, however. Leading companies are expanding the scope of the data used to make PLM decisions. That’s the evolution from Product Lifecycle Management to Product Lifecycle Intelligence that is happening in the manufacturing industry today.
