One for all: Eickhoff Group Integrates Five Companies Into a Multi-site Environment with Infor ERP LN

Industry-specific solution supports manufacturer of mining and drive technology to streamline processes and increase transparency

Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that Eickhoff is standardising its five German companies on Infor ERP LN. Benefitting from the multi-site support Infor ERP LN offers, the company will successively achieve more transparency in its company structures. The newly formed Eickhoff Wind Power near Dresden went live with Infor ERP LN first in January 2009. Up next the parent company in Bochum will follow, upgrading from currently used Infor ERP Baan IV. The project will be completed in 2013. As a manufacturer of mining and drive technology Eickhoff delivers the entire range – from individual parts of building components to complete systems. The subsidiary Eickhoff Wind Power produces wind power drives for customers such as General Electric. Infor ERP LN will now map the complex mix of series production and project business across different locations.

• The subsidiary Eickhoff Wind Power was newly founded in Klipphausen near Dresden. The company produces wind turbine gearboxes in series. Eickhoff chose Infor ERP LN to consolidate Eickhoff Wind Power together with the Bochum sites in an integral multi-site environment.
• Baan IV is being used at the four subsidiaries in Bochum successfully since 1998. With the upgrade to Infor ERP LN the inter-company processes will be further streamlined. At the moment the different sites still deal with each other on a customer-supplier basis. Bochum orders and Klipphausen delivers along with a delivery note and invoice. Infor ERP LN will enable Eickhoff to decrease the associated administrative and accounting efforts and simply charge for parts or services internally.
• The transition will change the ERP environment at Eickhoff fundamentally. Today the headquarters in Bochum runs a separate virtual server with Baan IV while Eickhoff Wind Power uses Infor ERP LN running on a physical server. Now the aim is to integrate the system for all locations on a central virtual server in Bochum to minimise maintenance.
• Approximately 200 employees will use the new software company-wide. Less administration and greater transparency from order to delivery will help in meeting customer requirements on time, without jeopardizing margins.
